2 Hospitalized After Car Strikes Wall, Overturning: Glastonbury Police

The car overturned "several times before coming to rest on its passenger side against the home," police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Two people were hospitalized after a car they were inside ended up striking a stone wall and then coming to a rest against a home, police said.

At 11:58 p.m. Friday, emergency crews responded to a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle accident in the area of Wassuc Road.

"Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Wassuc Rd and failed to negotiate a left-hand curve approaching the intersection of Country Club Rd," police said in a news release. "The vehicle left the south side of the roadway before entering the side yard of a residence, striking a stone wall, and then overturning several times before coming to rest on its passenger side against the home. The driver and passenger were extricated by GFD and transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. The residence was not affected structurally from the crash."

Members of the GPD Traffic Unit as well as Metro Traffic Services accident reconstruction team responded to process the scene. Witnesses, or anyone with information about the crash are asked to call Agent Cleveland at 860-633-8301.
