Glastonbury Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge

The suspect is accused of throwing a knife at the victim who he threatened to kill.

A 20-year-old Glastonbury man is facing attempted murder and first-degree assault charges in connection with throwing a knife at his sister’s boyfriend earlier this month.

Glastonbury Police said they had obtained an arrest for the suspect and found him in East Hartford on Dec. 18. During the Dec. 8 assault, the suspect threatened to kill the victim and threw a knife at the victim’s head, police said. “During the struggle for control of the knife, the victim sustained substantial wounds to their hand and upper arm,” according to a police report.

Martin Conroy Jr., of 46 Broad Moor, was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree assault and second-degree threatening.

Citing court records, The Courant reports the incident involved Conroy’s sister’s boyfriend and that he also used a baseball bat to smash some of her belongings.

Conroy was unable to post his court set bond of $1 million and his case was continued until Jan. 26.
