Glastonbury Police Open Their Hearts and Wallets for Local Boy

The officers donated money to buy a Christmas gift for the boy whose mother passed away just before Thanksgiving.

Police officers are sworn to protect and serve. And Glastonbury’s finest also don’t forget and they open up their hearts — and wallets to those in need.

Matthew’s mother Jayne passed away suddenly just before Thanksgiving, on Nov. 19. He is now living with his aunt.

Some of the officers pictured with Matthew responded to the 911 call that day.

“From personal donations from the officers and a donation from GPOA we were able to give Matthew a $700 gift card to Time Machine Hobby for Christmas,” according to a note Glastonbury Police posted on their Facebook page with the photo.
