East Granby Farmers Market Opening Day in Pictures
Temperatures approaching 100 °F didn't stop vendors and customers at the farmers' market at the East Granby Center Shops.
The second season of the began Wednesday afternoon with a ribbon cutting, live music, fresh produce and locally made products.
The early summer heat wave did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the East Granby Farmers' Market Committee, the farmers, vendors and customers who visited the market Wednesday afternoon.
Lee Sandora, the town's economic development commission chairman, was ensuring the event went smoothly along with other volunteers and committee members, including Lisa Salazar, Fred Webster, Sophie Huget and Tami Zawistowski. Following the success of the market's first year, Sandora was happy to see the event running again.

"There was an outcry [from the community] to do it again," Sandora said.
Also in attendance was Annelise Hurley, a vice president at . The bank donated the money for the market's sound tent, which featured country and western performer Mark Mears and friends this week.
