Police Officer Helps 4 Out Of Home During Fire
A fire in a home in East Granby prompted a response from multiple departments, officials said.
EAST GRANBY, CT — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to an early-morning house fire on Newgate Road in Granby on Tuesday, according to fire officials.
The fire was reported shortly after 1 a.m. at a home on Newgate Road, between Wyncairne Drive and Copper Hill Road. Officials said the blaze was in an attached garage and was initially reported as a residential structure fire.
According to WFSB, a police officer was the first to arrive and helped evacuate four people from the home. No injuries were reported, East Granby Fire Chief Kerry Flaherty told Eyewitness News.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including firefighters from the 103rd Airlift Wing, which confirmed its involvement in a social media post.
It's unclear if the family will be able to return home for the holiday. The town fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
