Farmington Valley YMCA Reduces Services During Fix-Up Week
Find out what is and isn't open at the Farmington Valley YMCA in Granby this week.

Staff and volunteers at the are performing yearly maintenance and enhancements to the facility in Granby. Some areas, including the pool complex, family locker rooms and special needs locker room are unavailable through next Monday, Sept. 3.
To compensate, the YMCA has removed the age restrictions for the adult locker rooms through the same date. In addition to the large swimming pools, the whirlpool, sauna and steam area are also shuttered.
The workers at the YMCA are busy as they drain, refill and treat the pools, paint the walls, redo the showers and much more. The majority of the facility, including the exercise rooms and Subway restaurant, remains open through the work. A significant amount of the repairs and renovations are occurring after hours to minimize the impact on members.

Dedicated swimmers can use pools at the YMCA locations in Plainville (Wheeler Family YMCA), Ellington (Indian Valley YMCA) and Hartford (Downtown and Wilson Gray YMCAs), as well as the outdoor, heated pool at Camp Chase in Burlington. As a reminder, the adult locker rooms will be closed on Oct. 21, a Sunday, for renovations and improvements.
