Introducing Your New Patch Editor, Granby and East Granby Meeting Skeds and More
A look at the week ahead.

Good morning, Granby and East Granby! Today is Monday, Aug. 26, 2013. There are 127 days left in the year.
I’ve worked at Patch for nearly two years, during which I have learned nothing if not things can change quickly.
First the bad news: while I just got the Granby-East Granby site back recently, I have been reassigned again, and am now exclusively the West Hartford Patch editor.

The good news? You are getting another Glanzer - my wife (a.k.a. "The Good One") is taking over as editor. She’s smarter and nicer than me, and she is a better writer and reporter. Oh, and she is far more pleasant to look at.
Also, I expect that I will be around as well, keeping an eye on things going on in Granby and East Granby.

As an aside, I suspect, if you are a fan of Harry Potter, that you think the Granbys Patch editor job is like the Defense of Dark Arts professorship. It seems like there's been a dozen editors in three years (Actually, I've counted 10).
I assure you this is not the case, as there isn't anyone nearly evil enough to curse the position.
Here are some things going on this week in both towns:
1. The Granby Board of Education meets Wednesday at 7 p.m.
2. The East Granby Board of Selectmen meets Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
3. Free Blood Pressure Screenings at the Granby VNA on Aug. 27 and 29.
4. The East Granby Public Library is showing “Brooklyn Castle” on Aug. 28 at 1 p.m.
5. There is a Harvest Dinner and Silent Auction at Hilltop in Suffield on Aug. 31.Get more local news delivered straight to your inbox. Sign up for free Patch newsletters and alerts.
