Ruby's Valentine, Unplugged Weekends, And Susan Reed At The Valley Preschool

Sunday Feb. 13, 2011

Today is Sunday Feb. 13, 2011 and there are 321 days left in the year.  There's a chance we'll see some snow today starting late morning or early this afternoon.  Only a half of one inch is expected to accumulate.  The temperature today will again reach the mid-30's.  The precipitation will turn to a mix of rain and sleet closer to midnight tonight.

If you're looking for some late-morning entertainment for the kids today, take a drive over to Barnes & Noble in West Hartford for a free story and crafts.  Ruby loves Valentine's Day and wants to make this year extra special. Join us as we follow along with Ruby and her sidekick, Lovebird, on their wild adventure. Stay for the craft to follow.  The story begins at 11 a.m. and is free to all.

Then hop over the mountain to the Stanley Whitman House in Farmington for Unplugged Weekends and spend the afternoon without the video games.  Enjoy simple pleasures during the cold weekends in February. We'll have games, toys, books and art supplies for you and your family to use.  A fire in the hearth and refreshments will help take the chill out. No registration is required. Visitors may determine their own admission.  Stop by between noon and 4 p.m.
