Slow but Steady Turnout in Granby, East Granby for Primary

Hundreds of voters in each town headed to their respective polling places throughout Tuesday morning and afternoon.

Granby and East Granby registrars of voters and poll workers were keeping the polls running smoothly Tuesday as more than 800 people from the two towns had cast ballots in today's primary election by 3 p.m.

Granby had 655 voters cast their ballots in the U.S. Senate Democratic and Republican primaries, and East Granby had 201 ballots cast in those primary races by noon.

The Republican primary is between candidates Linda McMahon (Republican Party endorsed candidate) and Chris Shays, while Democratic primary is between candidates Chris Murphy (Democratic Party endorsed candidate) and Susan Bysiewicz.

There is still time left to vote as the polls close at 8 p.m. this evening. The polling places for each town are below.

Granby: The primary is held the community gym at (follow the link for address information). Voters from both town districts (District 1 and District 2) should go to the gym to vote.

A tip of the hat to the registrars and poll workers, who arrived before the 6 a.m. poll opening and will continue their work past the 8 p.m. closing as they tabulate votes.
