Women's Chorus Sings Songs For Sweeties On Valentine's Day
More than 100 lucky Valentines in Hartford County will get a surprise visit from the Sound of New England Chorus today.
Some lucky residents in Hartford County are getting a special surprise this Valentine's Day when members of the Sound of New England women's chorus arrive to sing them a song.
The local chapter of Sweet Adelines International has all of its 85 members busy bringing Valentine's greetings to more than 100 lucky people today according to chorus member Jen Ludgin.
"Orders had been down in recent years," Ludgin said. "This year we have some availability still, but we're pretty booked."

The singing Valentines is one of two fundraisers the non-profit organization holds each year to help the group pay for concert venues, competitions, and travel. This year a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Phillips Women's Heart Program at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Ludgin said.
For $35, a quartet will sing your Valentine two songs, deliver a card, and leave a small teddy bear. If you'd like to try and make a last-minute reservation for your Valentine, call 1-877- LUV 2 SING or visit the Sound of New England Chorus Web site.
