Wednesday Heat Wave Update

With temperatures approaching 98 °F and a high heat index temperature of 102 °F in Granby and East Granby Wednesday, keeping cool on the first official day of summer is a top priority.

Cooling centers and places of refuge have not been officially activated but residents are welcome to visit town buildings with air conditioning. Those buildings include the , , .

The very hot weather continues into Thursday with a projected high temperature of 99 °F. The heat will begin to subside on Friday, when the high temperature is predicted to be 88 °F. A drop to 81 °F is predicted for Sunday.
