Wildcats Fall to Guilford in Hockey Quarterfinals

The Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks team lost to the Indians 5-1.

The Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks Wildcats fell to the Guilford Indians 5-1 in the quarterfinals of the Division II Ice Hockey Tournament on Friday night in Hartford.

The game at Trinity College in Hartford got away from the Wildcats, who trailed 2-1 early in the second period following a goal from junior Dylan Rupp.

Suffield High School Athletic Director Mike Bosworth said Guilford, the overall No. 1 seed in the tournament, was the faster team on the ice, but he had praise for the Wildcats.

"We played our hearts out," he said.

The Wildcats won in double overtime against Fairfield Warde-Ludlowe in the first round on Tuesday to advance to the quarterfinals.

Guilford will play Trumbull in a semifinal match on Monday.
