Zawistowski Begins Walking Tour of District

Republican candidate for State Representative Tami Zawistowski will cover the 61st district on foot as part of her campaign in the coming election.

From Tami Zawistowski

The November election is months away, but Tami Zawistowski, Republican candidate for 61st District in the Connecticut House of Representatives, has already started her walking tour of the district, beginning last Saturday.

“I’m starting in Suffield, which comprises most of the district," noted Zawistowski, “and I expect to be knocking on doors and ringing doorbells right up to Election Day."

Zawistowski views personal contact with voters of particular importance. “A State Representative needs to understand and respect the views and concerns of constituents," she said. “With Democrats controlling the governorship and both houses of the legislature these past two years, I’m not sure the needs of the district have been adequately addressed."

Since Zawistowski finished all fundraising early in May, she will have ample time to visit a lot of neighborhoods. As a small business owner, she also has the flexibility to put in time on the campaign trail: “I’m willing to put in the time and shoe leather – it’s that important."
