Zawistowski Challenges O'Brien to Series of Debates

The Republican candidate for state representative wants to debate local issues with the Democratic incumbent for the 61st district, which includes East Granby, Suffield and Windsor.

Tami Zawistowski, candidate for state representative, on Monday challenged incumbent Elaine O’Brien to a series of debates in the 61st district state representative race.

Zawistowski, a local business owner, said she is excited to discuss the issues with her opponent in front of the residents of Suffield, East Granby and Windsor.

“This is a critical election and the people of the 61st deserve a clear understanding of where both candidates stand on the issues that are important to them,” Zawistowski said. “As a state representative I plan to put the taxpayers first; unfortunately, I don’t believe the majority party in Hartford has been doing that.”

Zawistowski said she hopes to have a series of debates in neutral locations throughout the district.

“I hope my opponent accepts my challenge so she can answer for her record of higher taxes and government spending. The people need to know who they are voting for come November.”
