Fairfield County’s Angelique Tribus Donates $1,000 to UN Women’s Guild to Help Vulnerable Children Worldwide

Connecticut's Young Philanthropist Donates Proceeds from Artwork to the United Nations Women's Guild

Fairfield County, Connecticut;

Eleven year old Angelique Tribus, a proud Connecticut and Fairfield County resident, is making headlines for her generosity, creativity, and compassion. Through the sale of her artwork, Angelique raised a total of $1,500 in one day, donating $1,000 to the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) to support vulnerable children around the world with food, shelter, education, and healthcare. The remaining funds were thoughtfully used to replenish her art supplies, allowing her to continue creating new pieces to support her next charitable goal, raising funds for organizations focused on children and education.

Invited by Heba Abdelatif, Chairperson of the United Nations Women’s Guild, Angelique showcased her artwork at the UNWG International Bazaar, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Surrounded by adult exhibitors, Angelique stood out not only for her talent but also for her purpose and professionalism.

The UNWG President Annette Hayrapetian expressed the organization’s gratitude, writing:

“Dear Angelique,

Thank you for your generous contribution to the Guild to support vulnerable children around the world with shelter, food, education, and healthcare. We wish you the best on your journey in the art world and look forward to future collaboration.”

Treasurer Neelam Kakar added:

“Dear Agathe and Angelique,

I just received the $1,000 official check. Thanks a lot for this generous help to the United Nations Women’s Guild. Stay blessed always.”

Angelique, who recently turned eleven, shared a heartfelt message about her motivation:

"What I did isn’t exceptional to me, that’s what we’re supposed to do. Help and support one another, be the voice for those who don’t have one, and pray for peace in the world. We children hope that grown-ups can sit together, talk, listen to each other peacefully, and build a better world for us, the future generations and leaders of this country and the World".

Every summer, Angelique spends time in Paris, where she draws inspiration for her art. She said her recent travels through Paris, Brittany, Normandy, Mont Saint Michel, Futuroscope, Dijon, and the Museum of Illusion have inspired her next collection. She is currently working on her next beautiful masterpieces, which she plans to present in an art exhibition this spring. The proceeds will be donated to another well, known organization that she cares deeply about, continuing her mission to help children and support education.

“So far, I’ve had an amazing childhood filled with love, adventure, discovery, and fun. I wish every child could have the same. I’m very fortunate and thankful to my family, friends, community, schools, teachers, priests, and my multicultural background for making my journey so memorable. Most importantly, I’m proud to be American.

Her mother, Agathe expressed her deep pride and philosophy on parenting:

“My daughter is everything to me. She’s a gift from God, and it’s my job to always advocate for her, protect her, and put her first, no matter what. I believe every child is born with a gift. Our role as parents is to nurture that gift, give them love, affection, patience, and understanding. We need to listen to our kids because when we listen, we also learn. When children feel safe and supported, they become invincible empowered to go after their dreams.”

Her father, Matthew, also shared his heartfelt pride:

“I’m amazed every day by Angelique’s strength, resilience, and determination. I’m proud to be her protector and spiritual guardian. As her dad, my job is to make sure she knows she’s safe and loved so she can go into the world fearless. Every daughter deserves to feel that she has a strong male figure behind her one who believes in her and will always have her back.

Through her art, heart, and sense of purpose, Angelique Tribus is showing that compassion knows no age. Her generosity has touched lives around the globe, and inspired many here at home in Connecticut and Fairfield County. With every brushstroke, she continues to paint not just art, but hope for children everywhere.

It was great catching up with this young, incredible girl after her months overseas. She is in 6th grade and thriving with school, continuing to develop her art, and already planning her next project. She shared a big surprise, she has her next philanthropic initiative in mind and is preparing another exhibition to support children. We look forward to following her journey, from upcoming art exhibitions to future donations and continued impact in her community and the world.
