Grab Your Shovels -- It's Time to Sign Up for Greenwich Community Garden Plots
Community garden sign-ups are scheduled for this weekend.
GREENWICH, CT - With spring in the air, local gardeners have ditched the snow shovels are ready to grab the rakes and garden clippers.
And for Greenwich residents who are interested in joining one of the two Greenwich Community Gardens —including returning community gardeners — there two Garden Plot Sign-up Days this weekend for those who want to secure their garden plots for the 2016 season.
The Armstrong Court Community Garden is located on the western end of town and the Bible Street Community Garden is located in Cos Cob.

Both gardens offer tool sheds filled with garden tools, wheelbarrows, irrigation and raised garden beds filled with organic soil and compost. Garden classes also will be available at both locations. The Bible Street Garden also offers Universal Access “double-raised” Garden Beds for those who have limited mobility but would like to garden in a community of gardeners.
Sign-ups will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 12 and from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 13 at the Cos Cob Firehouse, 200 E. Putnam Ave., Cos Cob.
