Greenwich Choral Society Presents 'Holiday Brass'
Paul F. Mueller, Music Director and Conductor and the Greenwich Choral Society present 'Holiday Brass' December 3 and 4.

From Greenwich Choral Society:
GREENWICH, CT - This year’s Greenwich Choral Society December Concert, 'Holiday Brass,' features Jonathan Willcocks’ exhilarating Magnificat, a melodious and rhythmical setting of the Song of Mary from the Gospel of Luke. The program will also include shorter works for brass and chorus by Jan Sweelinck, Leo Nestor and Julian Wachner.
In addition to the thrilling combination of brass, organ, and percussion, audience favorite harpist Rita Costanzi will be featured as soloist in works for harp, chorus and our featured soprano, Katherine Polit. Ms. Polit received a Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, a Bachelor of Humanities and Arts from Carnegie Mellon University and completed her post-graduate studies at Indiana University. She received recognition for her excellence in recital with a Performer’s Certificate and was a winner of the university’s Friends of Music Travel Grant Competition.

As is our tradition, the December concert will begin with a procession of bells, candles and voices, as we surround the audience in the darkened sanctuary with the traditional carol Away In A Manger.
Carols with audience participation will be threaded throughout the program and complement the rich fabric of sounds and images of the season, including Ola Gjeilo’s rapturous Northern Lights and Hanukkah songs celebrating the “Festival of Lights.”
