Greenwich To Hold Safe Streets Demonstration At Local Middle School: Details

The demonstration will occur during school hours. Minor traffic delays may occur.

GREENWICH, CT — The Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works will conduct a tactical demonstration project at Western Middle School on Oct. 30, as part of the town’s Safe Streets Greenwich initiative aimed at improving traffic and pedestrian safety.

The project, taking place during school hours, will feature temporary traffic and pedestrian safety installations to demonstrate potential roadway improvements.

Students will take part by helping create temporary painted features designed to showcase creative ways to enhance safety around schools.

The demonstration supports the town’s effort to develop a data-driven Transportation Safety Action Plan focused on reducing traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities in Greenwich.

Minor traffic delays may occur between morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up while the installations are set up. The project is weather dependent and will be rescheduled to Wednesday, Nov. 6, in case of rain.
