Greenwich Preps For Safe Boating Week

The 'North American Safe Boating Week' began May 21 and continues through May 27.

With the official start of the boating season this coming Memorial Day weekend, Greenwich First Selectman has declared this week ‘North American Safe Boating Week.’

With members of the Greenwich Sail and Power Squadron - Andy Cummings, Susan Ryan, JN, and Nancy York, First Selectman Tesei presented the Safe Boating Week proclamation in Greenwich Town Hall. Also accompanying Mr. Tesei were Greenwich Police Lt. John Brown, commander of the Department’s Marine Section, and section members Sgt. Michael O’Connor Sr. and Officers Charles Eible.

The ‘North American Safe Boating Week’ began May 21 and continues through May 27. The Greenwich Sail and Power Squadron, in conjunction with the Greenwich Marine Police Section, will be offering the Connecticut Boating Course on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Greenwich Police headquarters, 11 Bruce Pl. in Greenwich.

Those who complete the course will receive the Connecticut Boating Certificate that includes the PWC (personal water craft)/Jet Ski certificate.
