Greenwich Restaurant Among Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in America

Valentine’s Day is 10 days away and the food blog OpenTable has released its list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America 2016.

And it’s not surprising that one Greenwich restaurant made the list. Exceptional ambience and those serving American and French cuisines dominated the list, according to OpenTable. There was one other Connecticut restaurant that made the culinary cut — it’s located in Hartford.

The list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America was compiled from more than 5 million restaurant reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between December 2014, and December 2015, according to OpenTable. “All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were then sorted according to Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of qualifying reviews for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature.”

Thomas Henkelmann-Homestead Inn in the exclusive Belle Haven waterfront neighborhood of Greenwich earned the romantic restaurant rating. The contemporary French cuisine presented by Thomas Henkelmann has received a four-star review from The New York Times.

And if you can’t score a reservation at Thomas Henkelmann for Valentine’s Day weekend, romantic foodies can always trek across the backcountry Greenwich border to Bedford, NY to another Top 100 romantic restaurant — La Cremaillere Restaurant.
