Greenwich Schools Appoint Research Manager

A middle school library media specialist has been named to the new position.

GREENWICH, CT - Central Middle School Library Media Specialist Jennifer Lau has been appointed the school district's new Research Manager.

Lau, who will report to Chief Information Officer (CIO) Phil Dunn, will be responsible for recommending the collection of specific data to aid in decision-making processes, to provide policy analyses based upon statistical models, and to assist in the development of statistical reporting, according to a district announcement.

After working in the private sector, Lau began her career as an educator with the Greenwich Pubic Schools in 2000. As a media specialist, she led a multi-year, grant-funded pilot to provide Internet service necessary for schoolwork for students who did not have access at home due to financial disadvantages.

Lau earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Denver, an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a master's of library science from Southern Connecticut State University.

Lau "impressed the review committees with her blend of educational expertise, GPS experience, and research/analytical abilities" school superintendent William McKersie wrote in an internal memo to staff. Dunn added, "Jen has an extraordinary blend of analytical, instructional and communication skills, which make her a great fit for this role.”
