Greenwich Stars Basketball Team Retires Max Bosco's Jersey
Max Bosco's jersey will be retired by the Greenwich Star on May 23 to recognize his career with the Stars.
From Greenwich Stars: Max Bosco's basketball jersey will be retired by the Greenwich Stars in a ceremony at Carmel Academy (Greenwich, CT) on Tuesday, May 23 at 6:45PM. This is the first time a jersey has been retired by the Greenwich Stars Basketball Organization. No player will ever wear #1 that Max Bosco wore during his career with the Stars.
From 2012- 2014, Max Bosco led his Greenwich Stars AAU team in points, assists, steals, blocked shots, minutes and games played. "Max was one of the greatest players in our history. He helped change the direction of the Greenwich Stars basketball program and gave us an identity. Max was an incredible scorer, a great defensive guard and a dynamic leader on and off the court," says John Raybin, The Greenwich Stars President and General Manager.
Max Bosco is graduating from Scarsdale High School (Scarsdale, NY) in June. He averaged 24.3 points per game during the 2016/2017 high school basketball season. He made 74 3-pointers and had a 90% free throw percentage. In the Section 1 Class AA final against Mount Vernon, he scored 35 points with 30 of them coming in the second half to lead the Raiders back from a 24 point deficit in the overtime loss. Bosco was named all-league and all- section this year. He's received the Tri-County Award as one of the top five players in the section. Max will be attending Middlebury College beginning in September and will continue playing basketball there. Max is an outstanding student with a GPA of 3.59 and is involved in numerous volunteer activities in the community.

The retirement ceremony will take place Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 6:45 PM at Carmel Academy, 270 Lake Avenue, Greenwich, CT. No RSVP is needed. The public is welcome.
