The “Hot Shot” Competition is co-sponsored by the Connecticut Recreation and Parks Association. The winners in each category will advance to the state meet in Old Saybrook on April 2.
“Hot Shots” is a basketball skills contest that required running, ball control, shooting ability and strategy. It is designed to promote enthusiasm, fun, physical fitness and sportsmanship. Each player will receive three timed rounds of one minute each to run and dribble to and shoot from “hot spots” marked in various locations on the gym floor. Points are awarded for shots made and also for attempting shots on all of the hot spots.
