Intoxicated Man With Knife Reportedly Pursued Woman In Greenwich, Police Say

GREENWICH, CT — Police say they're investigating an incident that occurred in Greenwich on Thursday night in which an intoxicated man with a knife reportedly pursued a woman.

"We are relieved to report that no one was injured during the incident," police said in a social media post. "The male subject has since been taken into custody, and there is currently no threat to public safety."

The incident occurred on South New Street in Byram near the New York border, according to police.

Police did not release the man's name or note any charges. Further details on what happened were not immediately available Friday morning.

"If you witnessed the event, have video surveillance, or possess any cell phone footage, please contact the Greenwich Police Department," police said.
