GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Police Marine Unit officer Josh Repik retired on Nov. 1 after 27 years of service, according to an announcement from the Greenwich Police Department.

Repik, a third-generation officer who followed in his father's and grandfather's footsteps, joined the GPD in 1998, where his boating experience and knowledge of Greenwich's waterways "put him on a fast track to the Department’s Marine Section," the GPD said.

He joined this specialized unit in 2001 and in subsequent years earned additional licenses and certifications that made him well-equipped to weather storms and handle potentially hazardous situations on the water.
