Man Reportedly Seen Taking Photos Of Young Girl In Greenwich, Police Say

Police responded to a report of "suspicious behavior" on the evening of Aug. 5, the Greenwich Police Department said.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich police say they are investigating an incident in which a man was reportedly seen taking photos of a young girl at Tod's Point this week.

"On the evening of Tuesday, August 5, 2025, the Greenwich Police Department responded to a report of suspicious behavior at Todd’s Point involving an adult male taking pictures of an adolescent female," police said in a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon. "According to the report, an adult male was observed taking photographs of an adolescent female on the beach. After being approached by others at the scene, the male left the area in a vehicle."

The Greenwich Police Department's Special Victims Section is conducting an investigation.

Greenwich resident Carl Higbie, who hosts a show on the cable news network Newsmax, posted on X Wednesday afternoon that the man was taking photos of his 12-year-old daughter at the beach.

"He had pics of other young girls on his phone too. Begged not to call police and offered to delete photos. Police investigating. IF YOU KNOW HIM PLEASE REPORT," Higbie wrote.

Higbie said in a subsequent post that he was not there when the incident occurred.

Police said specific details of the incident can't be released at this time.

"The Greenwich Police Department takes these matters seriously and is committed to conducting a thorough investigation," police said.

The GPD is encouraging anyone who witnesses suspicious or concerning behavior to report it immediately.

"Public safety is a shared responsibility, and community awareness plays a key role in protecting everyone," police added.
