She was born in Oyster Bay, NY on July 3, 1917 to Charles and Elizabeth Mayes. Nellie married Robert W. Texiere Sr. and they lived in Greenwich most of their lives.

Nellie was a clerk for the Town Of Greenwich Highway Department for over 20 years.
Nellie was predeceased by her husband Robert and her sister Alice Sweeney.

She is survived by her sons Gary (Maggie) and Robert (Kathy); her sister Marge Samuels, and her grandchildren, Robert III, Kristin and John. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd. #3, Greenwich, on Saturday, February 6, at 1 P.M. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 2 P.M.
