"She has been instrumental in supporting the district’s student achievement success, as shown by our impressive NGSS results in K-8. She is a gifted educator who works diligently to support our teachers through modeling, partnering, listening, and the exceptional ability to think creatively, making learning rigorous and exciting," Jones added. "Ms. Fogel also collaborates with Greenwich High School to ensure an aligned K-12 science curriculum. The hiring committee was impressed with her enthusiasm, knowledge, and drive to keep GPS moving forward so that all students are finding success."

Fogel has served since 2021 as curriculum coordinator for science in grades K-8 and social studies in grades K-5. In that role, she oversaw curriculum design, adoption and implementation, and worked to align instruction with standards and best practices, including universal design for learning, special education, language support and advanced learner programming.

The district said a search for a new curriculum coordinator will begin immediately.

"My five years working with and learning from the academic team have been a true privilege," Fogel said. "The time spent building strong, collaborative relationships with dedicated teachers and administrators has provided invaluable insight and inspiration that I carry with me into this new role. In this expanded capacity, I will continue championing our district’s vision for excellence, and I am honored to work alongside Dr. Jones to strengthen partnerships district-wide."

Before joining Greenwich Public Schools, Fogel served as systems and operations committee chair for Meriden Public Schools from 2018 to 2021 and as science department leader at Washington Middle School in Meriden. She also taught in Meriden from 2013 to 2021 and is currently an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University’s School of Education.

Fogel holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated geological sciences from the University of Connecticut, a master’s degree in secondary science education from the University of New Haven, and a Sixth Year Certificate and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Quinnipiac University.
