Pat's Hubba Hubba Announces Closure

The popular Stamford eatery that was first founded in Greenwich will close this month.

STAMFORD, CT - Pat’s Hubba Hubba has sated the chili and burger desires of legions of local residents for decades — first in Greenwich when it opened more than 50 years ago on West Putnam Avenue and then on Cove Road in the Shippan neighborhood of Stamford.

This week, the family of founder Pat Carta announced that they will be closing the popular Stamford eatery at the end of March. Gone will be the memorable menu of burgers, hotdogs and wedges topped with Carta’s infamous tongue-tingling chili.

In their announcement posted on Facebook, the family said “it is with mixed emotions” they made the decision to shutter the business that has been in Stamford for 25 years and thanked their loyal customers.

The restaurant has been operated by Carta’s daughter Chrissie since his passing in 2009.
