Greenwich Police Announce 'Untimely' Death Of Officer, 27

Police said the officer "represented the very best of our profession. His kindness, dedication, and spirit will never be forgotten."

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department on Thursday announced the "untimely" death of officer Robert Pascale, calling him a "kind soul, a loyal teammate, and a true friend to everyone who knew him." Pascale was 27.

According to Bosak Funeral Home, Pascale died on Oct. 27. An obituary was not posted to the funeral home website as of Thursday evening, and further information on Pascale's death were not immediately available.

Police said in a Facebook post Pascale was known for his steady presence, willingness to help others, and for how he treated his colleagues and fellow community members - with genuine respect.

The department noted his passion for service extended beyond the GPD, as he volunteered his time with local charities, and stayed active in sports like football and lacrosse.

Born and raised in Stamford, Pascale attended Penn State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminology and economics, with a Smeal College Business Fundamentals Certificate.

In April 2022, Pascale joined the GPD and later graduated from the New Britain Police Academy's 19th training session. Pascale's great-uncle John Cornelius was once a member of the GPD.

"From his first day, he served the Town of Greenwich with professionalism, integrity, and compassion. Known for his strong work ethic, excellent report writing, and willingness to help others, Officer Pascale earned multiple letters of recognition during his time with the Department," the GPD said.

"Officer Pascale represented the very best of our profession. His kindness, dedication, and spirit will never be forgotten."

Family, friends, and residents flocked to the GPD's Facebook post Thursday to offer condolences and memories of Pascale.

First Selectman Fred Camillo, who also serves as the town's police commissioner, posted to Facebook, too.

"May God love and bless Officer Pascale, and may He bless the Pascale family," Camillo wrote. "Thank you for your service, and may you rest peacefully."

The Shelton Police Department posted on Facebook it stands in solidarity with the GPD.

"The Shelton Police Department stands in solidarity with the Greenwich Police Department as we mourn the passing of Officer Pascale," the department wrote. "Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fellow officers during this difficult time. We stand together as one law enforcement community, united in support and remembrance."

Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Bosak Funeral Home located at 453 Shippan Ave. in Stamford, according to the GPD.

A Mass will be held at Church of Saint Cecilia in Stamford on Monday, Nov. 3 , at 10:30 a.m.

"The Greenwich Police Department stands with the Pascale family during this difficult time," the GPD added. "We extend our heartfelt condolences and unwavering support to Officer Pascale’s loved ones as they navigate this profound loss. He will always remain part of the Greenwich Police family."
