Sacred Heart Greenwich to Host 5K 'Run for Ugandan Girls'
An Olympic runner will join the annual benefit run that will raise money for a school in Uganda that Sacred Heart students support.

GREENWICH, CT —Sacred Heart Greenwich will host Olympic runner Julius Mutekanga at its fifth annual 5K “Run for Ugandan Girls” on April 10, that also include a fun walk, yoga and squash.
Over the past 15 years, students have raised thousands of dollars to construct and maintain a primary school in Kyamusansala. Events such as this and the Lower School girls’ annual “Jump Rope for Uganda/Kenya” provide continuing support.
On April 10, the Rev. Thomas M. Simisky, S.J., president of Fairfield College Preparatory School, will kick off the day by celebrating mass at 11 a.m.
Mutekanga, a middle-distance runner specializing in 800-meter events, will speak at the awards ceremony.
Registration begins at 11:45 a.m. The 5K race starts at 12:30 p.m., followed at 1 p.m. by a 1K fun walk. Yoga and squash sessions will be held in the athletic center on the school campus, 1177 King St., at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Participants can register to run for $30, walk for $25 or organize a team of six for $125 ($15 for each additional team member). The first 100 registered will get free T-shirts.
