Snow Impacts Greenwich's St. Patrick's Parade

The Greenwich Hibernians announce decision Friday afternoon.

GREENWICH, CT - The Greenwich Hibernians announced Friday afternoon that the 42nd annaul St. Patrick's Parade scheduled for Sunday afternoon has been cancelled.

In their announcement, the Hibernians said,

"After reviewing the weather reports all day today, the Parade Committee has decided that based on the forecast for Sunday, it is best to cancel the 2016 Greenwich St. Patrick's Parade. While we regret having to do so, our primary concern is for the safety of the participants and the spectators.

"We did not feel it was prudent to hold the parade with the potential for significant snow and cold temperatures on Sunday. In additions we have started to hear from some of the marchers that they will not be able to attend due to weather concerns. There will be no alternate date. ... we will be back in 2017 with a bigger and better parade."
