Temple Sholom Teens Continue Thanksgiving Tradition

Greenwich, CT - On Tuesday evening, November 25, Temple Sholom (300 East Putnam Avenue) hosted its annual Teen Thanksgiving Cooking, a social action program that has been a long-standing tradition at the synagogue.

Students in 9th-12th grades rotated from station to station to peel and mash potatoes, cut green beans, bake corn bread, and package cranberry sauce and dessert. Turkey and stuffing were added to complete the 100+ holiday meals, which were donated to Jewish Family Services of Greenwich and Port Chester’s Don Bosco Community Center.

“This annual event is a reminder of the importance of hakarat ha-tov—the Jewish practice of recognizing and expressing gratitude,” said Executive Director Lori Baden. “This is a great opportunity for us as a community to reflect on our blessings and help pay it forward to those in need, especially around the holidays.”
