Tracking Burglars -- Greenwich Police Have 'Leads' in Weekend Break-ins
Two mid-country homes were burglarized , an SUV stolen — all from the same neighborhood.

Greenwich Police say they have developed “investigative leads” in the weekend burglaries of two mid-country homes and the theft of an SUV but they remain mum on what those leads are.
Spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said thieves entered the homes — one on Pheasant Lane, the other on Rockwood Spur Lane, by forcing open second-floor entryways. He wouldn’t say whether windows or doors were broken open. Gray also would not elaborate on what was stolen.
The residents of the Pheasant Lane home apparently interrupted the burglary when they returned home shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday. While canvassing the neighborhood, police found that a neighboring home on Rockwood Spur also was burglarized.

Police called in canine units from New Canaan Police, the MTA Police, Connecticut State Police and Westchester County Police to search area. A helicopter unit from Westchester County PD also searched for the suspects.
But apparently the suspects already fled the area in a 2007 Denali SUV parked in a Pheasant Lane driveway that was left unlocked with the keys inside. The SUV was reported missing by its owner about 8:42 a.m. Saturday. Using the On-Star tracking device, police recovered the vehicle on Long Island.
