U.S. Marshals ID Fugitive Suspect Who Was Arrested In Greenwich
Greenwich police said they assisted the U.S. Marshals in the arrest of a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder case.
GREENWICH, CT — The U.S. Marshals have identified the fugitive suspect who was arrested Tuesday in Greenwich as Jarius Gaylord, 23.
According to Matthew Duffy, supervisor for the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, Gaylord was wanted in connection with an attempted murder case out of Queens, N.Y.
A warrant was issued out of New York for Gaylord's arrest in March of this year, Duffy told Patch Wednesday.

The U.S. Marshals became involved in July, and eventually tracked Gaylord to the western side of Greenwich where he was found staying with family, Duffy noted.
On Tuesday at around 5:30 a.m., the Greenwich Police Department, along with the U.S. Marshals, arrested Gaylord at a residence on St. Roch Avenue.

"He didn't want to come out of the house, and after maybe a 10-minute standoff, he eventually came out," Duffy said, noting authorities had to breach doors to the house.
Greenwich police said Tuesday a "violent fugitive" was taken into custody "without incident," and that there was no threat to the public.
According to the CT Judicial Branch website, Gaylord is being held on a $1 million bond. His next scheduled court date is Nov. 3.
