Victim Threatened With Knife In 'Violent Assault,' Man Arrested: Greenwich Police

"The victim reported that the suspect made repeated threats to kill them," police said.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department on Monday announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man in connection with a "violent assault" that occurred in town last week.

Jeremie Alexis, 27, was arrested on Dec. 30 and charged with disorderly conduct; first-degree sexual assault; second-degree assault; first-degree strangulation; second-degree threatening; and first-degree unlawful restraint.

The GPD was notified by the Norwalk Police Department at approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 30 that a victim had reported an assault in which they sustained injuries earlier that day in Greenwich, police said in an announcement.

"Based on the victim’s statements, physical evidence, and observed injuries, investigators determined that the victim was physically assaulted, strangled, unlawfully restrained, threatened with a knife, and sexually assaulted during the incident," police said. "The victim reported that the suspect made repeated threats to kill them."

Greenwich police detectives and patrol officers responded to Alexis's home, established a perimeter, and took him into custody without incident, police said.

Alexis was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 31, and he was held on a $500,000 bond.

"Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation no further details will be released at this time," police said.
