Another Day, Another Heroin Arrest in SE Connecticut

Cash, heroin and a Mercedes Benz were seized after a heroin sale investigation in the area also resulted in the arrest of a Groton man.

One arrest was made on Friday, Feb. 12, by the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, formed to combat the heroin epidemic in the area and to improve the quality of life of citizens have made the following arrest.

According to the Town of Groton Police Department, Mark F. Mammone, 59, of 46 Village Lane, Apartment 4, Groton, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Possession of Heroin
  • Possession of Heroin With Intent to sell

Mammone was placed under arrest after an investigation into the sale of heroin in Southeastern Connecticut. The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant that resulted with the seizure of 10 grams of heroin packaged for sale, $2,000 cash and a Mercedes Benz.

The Regional Community Enhancement Task Force encourages residents to call their local or state police agency regarding any drug information or suspicious activity.
