VIDEO: The Region's Amazing Balloon Artist

April Brunelle, of Gales Ferry, started making balloon animals on a whim but realized quickly that she was pretty serious about her hobby.

"I went online and just ordered some balloons and a pump and then it just took over," she said of the beginning.

Three years later, she owns a small business named April's Balloon Creations. She makes it look easy now, but she said it takes some practice.

"It took a long time, at first I was popping every balloon and then I was lucky to have it come out looking sort of like a dog."

A scientist by day, April spends evenings and weekends providing every last request, whispered or yelled, for any age group. From poodles on a leash to exotic animals to aliens and then life-sized Justin Beibers and wicked witches, Brunelle is not intimidated by your imagination.
