Tree of Hope

Noank Baptist Church and the Neighborhood

In 2024, the Noank Baptist Church congregation teamed with the local community and started a new Noank Village tradition for the holidays, the Tree of Hope, which we have continued into 2025 & '26

For some, the winter season comes with grief, hardships, and loneliness. The Tree of Hope brings light and healing to those who need to be reminded that, even in darkness, we can come together to lighten our burdens and care for each other. Donors have designated people, pets, and causes they wish to shine a light on this year.

The Lighting of the Tree of Hope took place November 30th, 2025 at 5:30 pm. We are indebted to the C. J. Satti Family Tree Service for the preparation and very grateful to the Helbig Family's Noank Village Boatyard for the lighting and star installation on the 50 ' tree.

Donations continue to be accepted at the church for an organization providing critical services at this time for people who are presently homeless and need assistance to qualify for being able to acquire affordable housing. Our combined church & neighborhood committee selected The New London Homeless Hospitality Center (NLHHC) to be the recipient for this season. We also hope that those of you who donated last year will do so again, as many have already done.

Please mail to, or drop off donations at, Noank Baptist Church, 18 Cathedral Heights (off of Main Street) Noank, CT 06340. Make out your checks to "Noank Baptist Church" with "Tree of Hope" in the memo line.
You will receive an acknowledgement and thanks in the mail (we are 501(c)(3) status.) For drop offs, the office is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (not holidays) from 9am to 1pm.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Ed Johnson
