Daily Five: Catherine Kolnaski Fifth Graders And Their Siblings
Five Things To Know Thursday, June 28

1. Today is Thursday, June 28. The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and a high temperature of 82 degrees. The low will fall to 66 degrees tonight, and there’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight.
2. Fifth graders moving from Catherine Kolnaski Magnet School to Claude Chester Elementary next year will still be able to attend the before and after school program at the magnet school. “This will provide a service to parents who have depended on this program to continue to receive this service,” said a memo from Interim Superintendent Randall Collins to the school board.
The school department is also giving parents the option of sending siblings to Claude Chester if they wish. Based on current enrollment, there are 14 siblings of fifth graders moving from Catherine Kolnaski Magnet to Claude Chester.
