Five Things To Know Today, Oct. 17
The Revaluation, Local Artists And Unused Prescription Drugs

1. Today is Monday, Oct. 17. The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and a high temperature of 66 degees. It will cloud up this afternoon and there's a chance of rain; the low will drop to 49 tonight.
2. Tyler/CLT, the company handling the revaluation in Groton, will hold a public information session at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Groton Senior Center. Company representatives will take questions from the public after the presentation.
3. Eight artists have work exhibited at Groton Senior Center through Dec. 30. Paintings of landscapes and other work went up Oct. 7. Artists include Peggy Traskos, Carrie Reynolds, Ray O'Connell, Carole Erdman, Carol Conor, Janice Dibattista, Sadie Devore and Ralph Acosta.

4. Groton Public Library will offer a program on mystery writing at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The program will feature local authors, including Roberta Isleib and Jessica Speart, and will discuss topics like creating characters, researching and having a writing schedule.
5. The Groton Senior Center will serve as a site for the Prescription Drug Take Back from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. The event provides a place for people to drop off their unused prescriptions or other medications they have accumulated over the years.
