Police Issue Traffic Alert For Mystic River Run
The police department is advising drivers about the upcoming Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run this weekend.

GROTON, CT — Police are issuing guidance for drivers this weekend as the Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run will be held Sunday, Nov. 2.
The Town of Groton Police Department posted the following on Facebook:

The Town of Groton Police Department announces a Traffic Alert and road closures occurring Sunday November 2, 2025, between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., in the downtown Mystic area. The alert and road closures are in conjunction with the 50th running of the annual “Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run,” which is sponsored by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce.
The road closures in the Mystic section of Groton are as follows:

- Pearl Street will be closed between Clift Street and West Main Street from 11:30 a.m. to the end of the race.
- Clift Street, Grove Avenue, Starr Street, and Gravel Street will experience road closures at 12:45 p.m. for the children’s run and again just before the start of the adult race, which is 1:00 p.m. These closures are expected to last only a minimal amount of time.
- River Road will only be closed just before the start time of the adult race, which is 1:00 p.m., and will reopen as soon as safety permits.
