Six Groton Liquor Stores, 4 Others Cited For Alcohol Sales To Minors

Six Groton liquor stores and four restaurants or bars failed a compliance check by police Saturday and agreed to sell alcohol to minors, according to a news release.

The checks were conducted by members of the Groton town and city police departments, in conjunction with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection’s Liquor Control Division and the Governor’s Prevention Partnership.

Police checked 18 stores that sell alcohol and 9 establishments where drinking is permitted. 

The stores cited for selling alcoholic beverages to minors, according to police were:

• , 931 Poquonnock Road, Groton

• Grape Vine, 766 Long Hill Rd., Groton

• s, 116 North St., Groton

• , 179 Bridge St., Groton

The bars or restaurants cited for selling alcoholic beverages to minors, according to police were:

• , 507 Gold Star Hwy, Groton

• , 7 Kings Hwy, Groton

• Ryan’s Pub, 112 Fort Hill Road, Groton

• Daniel Packer Inn, 2 Water St., Mystic
