Some Meetings, More on the Civil War and The Emporium's Last Week
Here are some highlights from the week ahead, have fun!

Just for Fun
Monday: This is the last week people can enjoy one of Mystic’s beloved landmarks. The Emporium, on Water Street, will close its doors Saturday.
Tuesday: The Mystic Art Center is hosting another Art after Dark tonight! Mystic Horns will perform live while guests are invited to stroll the gallery and grounds with pizza and beer.

Wednesday: Myth, Maggots, Minie Balls, Gangrene and Glory: A Civil War Medical Program will be discussed at the Groton Public Library tonight from 7 p.m. to 8:30.
Thursday: Civil War Soldiers of Color from Southeastern New England will be discussed from 7 p.m. to 9.

Friday: Kids are invited to the Summer of Science at the Submarine Force Museum. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. they’ll have the opportunity to experiment with basic electronics using award-winning kits from Snap Circuits.
Municipal Meetings
Monday: Mystic Cooperative Task Group, 8 a.m., B.F. Hoxie Fire House
Tuesday: Jabez Smith House Committee meets at the Groton Public Library at 4:30 p.m.; at 7 p.m. the Historic District Commission meets in the Town Hall Annex - Community Room 2 and Noank Fire District Zoning Commission meets at Noank Fire House; Town Council meets in the Town Hall Annex - Community Room 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday: The Housing Authority and Redevelopment Agency meets at 2 p.m.
Thursday: The Trails Coordinating Task Force meets at 4 p.m. at the Groton Senior Center and the School Facilities Initiative Task Force meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex.
