2-Hour Delayed Opening Announced For Guilford Public Schools

The school district will operate under a delayed opening a day after classes were canceled due to snow and ice.

GUILFORD, CT — Due to icy conditions, Guilford Public Schools is operating under a two-hour delayed opening on Wednesday, Jan. 17, the school district announced on its website.

A winter storm brought snow and sleet to the area on Tuesday which caused classes to be canceled.

Here is the schedule for Wednesday, according to GPS:

  • Guilford High School will begin at 9:40 a.m.
  • Baldwin Middle School - bus arrival/drop-off begins at 10 a.m.
  • Adams Middle School will begin at 10:10 a.m.
  • Elementary schools will begin at 11:05 a.m.
  • AM preschool will be canceled today. PM preschool will be on its regular schedule beginning at 12:50 p.m. Full-day preschool will begin at 11:05 a.m.
  • Guilford Before and After School Care and Suncatchers will open at 8:30 a.m.
  • Breakfast will be available at the high school and lunch will be served in all schools today

The forecast for Wednesday will be sunny but cold, with a high near 29 and wind chill values between 10 and 15, according to the National Weather Service.
