Calling Local Artists- Friends of Guilford Library Seeking New Logo

Friend's of the Guilford Free Library is holding a contest to find their new graphic logo. The winner of the contest will have their logo featured on the Friend's page on the Library website, flyers, signs, Facebook, and win a $100 gift certif

 

Friend's of the Guilford Library is holding a 'Design our Logo' contest, and calling for entries. The contest is open to all Guilford residents and closes April 30, 2013. The artist submitting the winning logo will receive a $100 gift certificate for Breakwater Books. The winner also will be announced in the newspapers and on the Library website, and the best submissions will be displayed in the Library.

"We want something that is recognizable," Friends member Gitta Morris told Guilford Patch. "We want it to show what the Friends are really all about, what we do and something that signifies what the friends are about.

"The logo can really be anything, there are no specific guidelines for the content," continued Morris. "Green and yellow are our Friends colors, so that could be a jumping off point for designers."

The Friends of the Guilford Free Library Announce a Competition for the Best Logo to provide instant recognition on flyers, signs, letterhead, Facebook, and the Friend’s page on the Library Website. The contest is open to Guilford residents and Friends of the Guilford Library.

The artist submitting the winning logo will receive a $100 gift certificate for Breakwater Books. The winner also will be announced in the newspapers and on the Library website, and the best submissions will be displayed in the Library.

The purpose of the Friends of the Guilford Library is to foster closer relations between the Library and the residents of Guilford; to promote knowledge of functions, resources, services and needs of the library; and to further activities that are compatible with the Library. Judges will be announced on this site at a later date. Their decision will be final. In the event that no suitable logo is submitted, no winner will be chosen.

To enter, please submit a camera-ready design to the Circulation Desk at the Library. On the back, put an identifying number that corresponds with a number on an envelope containing your name, address, e-mail and phone number.

The deadline for submission is April 30, 2013. The winning logo becomes the property of the Friends of the Library.
