Chasing The Light: Guilford Art League’s Annual Member Show Underway
At the Guilford Free Library through the end of March, on Sunday Guilford Poets Guild members will read poetry inspired by paintings.
GUILFORD, CT — Guilford Art League’s Annual Member Show at the Guilford Free Library is underway thought the end of March.
The optional theme of the show is “Chasing the Light,” which can be seen in many of the pieces on display in the Library’s corridor and Meeting Room.
This Sunday, March 17, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 pm, members of the Guilford Poets Guild will read poetry inspired by paintings in the show. These ekphrastic poetry readings—poems inspired by other works of art—offer a unique way to see artwork. There is a wide range of styles and media in this year’s show—oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, prints, mixed media and photography—reflecting the diverse talents of the League’s 180 members.
