'Compassionate And Caring': Guilford Star Student

GUILFORD, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Alicia Mahon, who nominated her daughter Olivia of Guilford.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Olivia is academically focused while also spending her time outside of school practicing her love for softball and basketball. He has been awarded as an MVP in the 2023 basketball season for her dedication to her team and her perseverance and team leadership. Olivia also spends her time volunteering at The Ronald McDonald house in New Haven, making meals for the families that stay there while their children have extended stays at the local children's hospital. All around she is a compassionate and caring star student.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She’s a loyal friend, Teammate and a respectful young lady.
