Connex Credit Union Announces $5,000 in Scholarships to College Students

Are you or a family member off to college this year? As a part of its commitment to its younger members and continuing education,Connex Credit Union is currently accepting applications for its annual college scholarship program for students. Connex will award three scholarships – two for $2,000 and one for $1,000 to deserving students who can use the money toward tuition or other school-related expenses.

“We are very happy to announce that this year marks the introduction of the John R. Edwards Community Involvement Scholarship in honor of our recently retired CEO,” said Frank Mancini, President and CEO, Connex Credit Union. “This is our way of recognizing and rewarding students who work toward bettering their community.”

This year, students are asked to submit an essay or video on the following topic:Connex Credit Union strives to be an advocate for our members and improve their financial lives. What do you think Connex can do to better educate high school and college students to help them achieve financial success?

To apply, scholarship applications can be obtained at www.connexcu.org or at any one of Connex’s seven branch locations. Applicants must be college-bound seniors or college students and active members of Connex Credit Union. Other requirements include a current GPA of 3.2 or higher, demonstrated community involvement and a copy of current transcripts. The deadline for application is April 1, 2013.
