Construction Underway On New Target Store In Guilford: Report

The Target will open up in the space formerly occupied by Walmart.

GUILFORD, CT — Construction is underway on the new Target slated to open at 900 Boston Post Road in Guilford, according to CT Insider.

Work will take about a year, the media outlet reported, noting the store will also house a CVS pharmacy and Starbucks.

First Selectman Matt Hoey told CT Insider crews are going "full steam ahead."

The Guilford Planning and Zoning Commission last fall approved plans for Target to open inside the 78,950-square-foot building that used to house Walmart before it closed in May 2022.

Currently, the closest Target to Guilford is in North Haven.
